for a product as strong as muriatic acid, but far safer. Also, does not rust metal interior fixtures the way muriatic acid does.

Same Day Sealer
The following are common practices and concepts used by installing contractors for years that have built in risk. There are better ways available as you will see:
"Pre-sealing" - using a sealer as a grout release. This causes many problems (you only need one problem job to lose the profit on ten good ones). It is not necessary. Please see the  section on "Pre-sealing".
Muriatic acid cleaning causes metal etching fumes, powders out grout and is generally dangerous. And, it is not necessary. Please see the section on grout residue cleaning to see a safer, but just as strong solution.
Some stone installers are using Aldon "Grout Residue Remover / Brick & Block Cleaner" to coat the exposed portion of the stone that will need to have the mortar cleaned off. When this area is rewet at the end of the day, the cement bond has been "killed" and the stone cleans to the mortar edge with a scrub brush and a little more "Grout Residue Remover / Brick and Block Cleaner". While this is a great time saver, using Grout Easy the same way will work even better, require less labor/time, and do a better job of keeping mortar out of the stone crevices.
